Billing & Insurance

Speech Billing:

Milk & Hvni Therapy and Consulting is in-network for speech and feeding therapy with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ and participating Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. At Milk & Hvni, we will verify your therapy benefits. If we are not in-network with your insurance plan, there may be ways to discuss getting covered. Milk & Hvni accepts Health Saving Accounts/Flex Spending Accounts & private payment options and a superbill can be provided for you to submit to your insurance for out of network benefits.

  • Evaluation Private Pay Rates:

  • Speech, Fluency, & Voice - $210

  • Feeding - $210

  • Lactation (Parent + Infant) - $300

  • Parent only - $200

    • Twins - $400

  • Speech-Language Comprehensive with Articulation - $260 Evaluations include either an in-person or virtual comprehensive assessment (1-1.5 hours long) and a written report.

    (Therapy session length will be determined following discussion of recommended treatment plan)

  • Speech & Feeding Therapy Follow-Up Private Pay Rates:

  • $75 per 30 minute session

  • $112.50 per 45 minute session

  • $150 per 60 minute session

  • $225 per 90 minute session

  • Tele therapy is also available!

    Lactation Follow-Up Private Pay Rates:

  • $200 per follow up

  • $250 per follow up holidays/weekends/after hours

Lactation Billing:

Lactation consulting visits and evaluation are billed private pay or through The Lactation Network (TLN) or Wildflower Health.

United, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Anthem, Horizon, United, United Oxford, and plans with the Multiplan logo are covered through The Lactation Network (TLN).

If your insurance plan has coverage through TLN, you are allowed unlimited visits with a $30 out of pocket administrative fee (excluding travel fees for those farther than 30 minute/15 mile drive). This fee will cover the initial and all related follow-ups for the duration of the feeding journey.

*Plans that TLN does not work with will be denied by them, but this does not necessarily mean you do not have coverage. Please contact us for further details.

Depending on you and your baby’s needs, visits may include feeding therapy versus lactation care.

Coaching/Consulting Rates:

  • Individual, Parent, or SLP - Online consultation rate $75 per 30 minutes.

  • Group Presentation or Speaking engagements range from $200-$500 for 60- 90 minutes depending on type of presentation (+ travel fees if in person). Please inquire to discuss rates.

Referrals

If you plan on using insurance, please obtain a prescription prior to your initial evaluation from your referring doctor in case we need to submit to insurance for authorization for therapy. If you are a physician’s office hoping to send clients to Milk & Hvni, please contact us below to connect!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do we get started?

    During our 15 minute consultation call, we will determine whether therapy is warranted and set up an evaluation. If your child has had a speech/language evaluation within the past 6 months, we may be able to get you scheduled to begin with direct therapy right away as long as the assessments given are deemed appropriate towards the type of treatment we are hoping to address.

  • Do you take insurance?

    For speech therapy, we do take Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance & participating BCBS plans.

    If you are not a BCBS member, we provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential full or partial reimbursement. If you have a high deductible, you are responsible for full private pay rates until that deductible is reached.

    For Lactation, we are apart of The Lactation Network & Wildflower Health for Cigna PPO. Most insurance plans are covered, but you will need to submit information to determine.

  • What ages do you work with?

    We work with the lifespan from ages from 0-99! We are not just a pediatric practice.

  • Can I be present for my child's or partner's sessions?

    Yes! In fact, we encourage it. Whether receiving home or community based services or in-office, we value the opportunity to connect with the child's family and determine how we can better implement our practices into their everyday lives.

  • Can I still see you although I work with another speech therapist?

    Yes! And we are more than happy to collaborate with other team members. However, if you are using insurance, you may not be able to use your benefits for both practices.

  • I cannot afford to pay out of pocket for services, are there other options?

    We may be able to have a virtual consultation (not covered by insurance) that can help us brainstorm ideas and provide general recommendations to support your needs. If Bettina feels that virtual consultations are not appopriate, she will try to help find providers in your area who can help you in person.
